Biography
Jeffrey Ives, Vice President for Financial Affairs, joined Clarkson in September 2023. He brings over 15 years of experience in senior financial leadership in Universities, having worked as the AVP of Finance at Dartmouth College from 2013 to 2023 and prior to that, as the Budget Director at McGill University from 2008 to 2013. Ives was responsible for leading both annual budget processes and multi-year strategic planning efforts. He has significant experience implementing resource reallocations to ensure an institution is constantly evaluating where its priorities lie.
Prior to working in higher ed, Ives held several corporate finance roles at Bristol-Myers Squibb, a large pharmaceutical company in NY/NJ, and spent several years in the commercial banking and insurance industries in Philadelphia.
Ives graduated from Haverford College with a BA in Economics. He holds an MBA from Duke University. He has 3 sons, all of whom either graduated from, or are currently attending universities in Canada. They all enjoy traveling together, hiking, and riding motorcycles.
